Submitting your manuscript to Science Dialogues

Manuscript length—750 to 1,250 words together with an abstract of no more than 100 words in clear, comprehensible English; 5 keywords; full end-note citations; and illustrations (with captions)

Manuscript format—Word docx or rtf formats accepted

Figures and illustrations—jpeg format at 150, maximum size 800 X 600 pixels

Format for citations and references: 

—in-text citations:

author + date + sub-letter, e.g., (Smith 2014a)author#1 + author#2 + date + sub-letter, e.g. (Smith and Jones 2014a)first author et al. + date + sub-letter, e.g., (Smith et al. 2014a)

in-text citations with page numbers:

same as shown above but with page numbers with en-dash separator, e.g., (Smith et al. 2014a:219–227)

end-note reference format:

Author, A. B. 2014a. Title of the journal article all in lower case after first word. Journal Title in Italics with All Capital Letters vol._no.: pages with en-dash separator.

Author, A. B. 2014b. Title of book all in lower case after first word and in italics. City: Name of Publisher.

Author#1, A. B. and C. D. Author#2. Title of the journal article all in lower case after first word. Journal Title in Italics with All Capital Letters vol._no.: pages with en-dash separator.

Author#1, A. B., C. D. Author#2, and E. F. Author#3. 2014. Title of chapter all in lower case after first word.  In Title of book in lower case after first word and all in italics, Editor’s Name, ed., pages with en-dash separator. City: Name of Publisher.

Also required:  Author’s information

name(s), email address(es), institutional affiliation(s); note: if more than one author, senior author must include evidence that the other authors have approved the manuscript being submitted for consideration at Science Dialogues.

Cover email message by author or senior author

  1.   In the email submitting your contribution please be sure to state that you are the original author or senior author of the manuscript you would like to post at Science Dialogues, that your manuscript has not been published previously in any format, and that you and you alone (or in collaboration with your co-authors) are solely responsible for the content and opinions expressed.
  2.   Be sure to indicate which Science Dialogues topic your contribution addresses.
